It is the junction of the Kōya Kaido and the road called “Sota Peak crossing” (Sota-mine-goe) from Kanshin-ji temple by way of Enmei-ji temple, and also the road by way of Kongo-ji temple to the road known as “Kogose-michi” to visit the temple in Omine. There are several stories about the origin of the name Gosho-no-tsuji. The big stone jizo statue in the temple was made in the middle of the Edo period, by Mr. Tani’s clan, a wealthy merchant of Sakai city, whose origin was Kagata village.
